"I support Joan for mayor for one main reason: pragmatism. The political winds sometimes blow hard in Burlington and can be strong enough to cause policy shifts. Joan has demonstrated time and again that wind velocity or volume are not necessarily a recipe for good governance. This has made her unpopular on some decisions. The benefit I see is that no matter how much advocacy organizations stack a meeting or dominate public forums, Joan will always have an eye out for the best interests of all city residents. She wants everyone to have a seat at the table."
